The Union of Albanian Municipalities in the Region this March 8 managed to bring together the municipalities and communes of Tirana, Kruja, Tuz, Prishtina, Prizren, Tetovo, Ulcinj, Presevo and Cair in the first edition of the "Forum of successful Albanian women in the region".
Held in the Municipality of Tuz, this event included a diverse program focusing on the Albanian woman and her journey to democracy to gain more rights and become a factor in society.
With the participation of more than 150 participants from all Albanian-speaking regions, the Municipality of Tuz turned into a celebration place for residents through a handicraft fair which featured 40 exhibitors from 8 municipalities in the region. The common theme of the fair was the promotion of Albanian culture and tradition.
"Women's Forum of Albanian Territories" developed an agenda that included representatives and experts from various fields such as politics, business, civil society, etc. where participants shared experiences, ideas and addressed the challenges facing Albanian women in the days today.
The forum was joined by well-known names of women in politics, business, television, art and decision-making.
According to the president of the Union of Municipalities, Mrs. Andriola Kambo, the initiative aims to set a precedent and become an annual organization with even wider participation, which aims to awaken and contribute to the empowerment of Albanian women throughout the region.
