Tourism, in the vision of the government, is seen as the sector that will guarantee sustainable economic development, providing employment, incentives for small and large enterprises, more income and more welfare for Albanian citizens.
The Minister of Finance and Economy, Anila Denaj announced that in order to encourage not only foreign direct investments, but also domestic ones in the tourism sector, which is seen as one of the main engines of development of the Albanian economy, we have undertaken a series of facilities fiscal.
According to Denaj, the government imposed the exemption from profit tax for a period of 10 years as well as the tax on the impact on the infrastructure of 4 and 5 star hotels that have special status.
Also, she pointed out, a favorable value added tax rate has been set for accommodation units in this sector.
“We reduced to 6% from 20% which was the VAT for accommodation and food services within the structures in the enterprises in tourism and agritourism. We reduced from 15% to 5% the profit tax for the agro-tourism sector ", declared Denaj.
"Through these favorable policies," Denaj underlined, "we aim to boost investment and create new jobs."
