US - IMF: Less catastrophic global economic forecast

The forecast for the world economy is less terrible than the one estimated in June, an IMF spokesman said today, suggesting that future estimates, which will come out on October 13, will be revised upwards.

"Recent economic data suggest that the forecast may be less alarming than when the WEO (Growth Ratings Report) was updated on June 24," the IMF said.

However, the monetary institution insisted that the global economy is not yet out of risk and the outlook remains difficult, especially for many start-ups and emerging countries.
