Due to the increase in the number of coronavirus infections among students in Rotterdam, the mayor has sent a letter to all students in the Dutch port city to follow the regulations and control the spread of the coronavirus.
"Young people can also get seriously ill. "Pay attention to your responsibility, because only together we can control this virus," the letter reads.
The number of infections among students in Rotterdam is increasing every day.
"The problem is that students do not rush to take tests and find the quarantine annoying," said the mayor.
Rotterdam and Amsterdam will be the first Dutch cities where the mask will be mandatory from next Wednesday.
This also applies to squares, streets and shops.
The Dutch government has rejected the general obligation to wear masks.
