The WB project for irrigation in agriculture benefits 31 thousand farming families


The World Bank is continuing to implement the $ 67 million irrigation and drainage project in the agricultural sector, following a five-week hiatus due to the situation created by covid-19.

In its assessment of the progress of this project, the WB states that, "it has encountered some implementation delays due to the COVID-19 crisis".

But cites the WB, despite these challenges in total the level of completion of works was higher than expected and the project is on track to achieve development objectives.

Currently, the users of water provided with improved irrigation and drainage services for irrigation of agricultural lands are about 31 140 families, while the full implementation of this project for the next year, will further increase the number of beneficiaries.
