In this pandemic period, millions of people have made sacrifices by giving up to see their loved ones for Christmas, stated the head of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus in his message published last night.
As 2020 draws to a close, this historic pandemic has prevented many of us from celebrating as we would like, the head of the World Health Organization underlined.
Hundreds of millions of people today make sacrifices by not joining their families in order not to risk the transmission of the virus, while others will sit at a table where the family face of a relative who has passed away as a result of coronavirus.
"All over the world, during this terrible year, we have seen the sacrifices made by so many people to protect and preserve life. "We must not reject these sacrifices," he said.
"Despite all these losses, we still have hope. Vaccines offer the solution to finally get out of this tragedy. "But it will take time for the whole world to be vaccinated."
