The Minister of Finance and Economy, Anila Denaj, participated in the "Euromoney Conference", the Forum of Central and Eastern Europe, which takes place every year and meets in Vienna, Austria, the highest heads of the Ministries of Finance, Economy and the financial and banking system.
Minister Denaj, together with the Governor of the Bank of Albania, Mr. Gent Sejko, and the Minister of State for the Diaspora, Mr. Pandeli Majko was part of the discussion panel on Albania, focused on investment opportunities and the orientation of the Albanian market towards international markets.
The Minister reminded the audience and investors that the Government has successfully completed a cycle of reforms in the field of public finance, economy and vocational education, bringing stability to public finances, stable growth of trade exchanges and an increasing trajectory of foreign investment in place.
In her speech, the Minister focused on the stability of macroeconomic indicators and the growth potential of the Albanian economy despite the earthquake on November 26.
"Albania is a developing economy, with an economic growth continued since 2014, with a domestic consumption and perception of economic actors in the country growing and with an unemployment rate of 11.4% in the first 9 months of 2019. Minister Denaj also stressed the importance of advancing the reform of the justice system and the functioning of the cadastre as two essential elements that will further facilitate doing business in Albania for local and foreign entrepreneurs.
