Facebook agreement with Reuters, to cooperate against "fake news"

The largest platform, Facebook announced a few days ago that it has reached an agreement with the news agency Reuters to verify the news published on this network.

Under pressure for measures taken to avoid fake news, Facebook has launched an American pilot program since December last year which makes it possible to more quickly identify news that is not true.

The move comes after the events of 2016 where US intelligence agencies stated that social media space was used in the Russian campaign with the aim of interfering in the 2016 presidential election.

Reuters has said it has set up a new department to verify photos, videos, headlines and other materials posted on Facebook to American and Spanish audiences.

According to this agreement, the materials published on Facebook, but also on Instagram will be verified.

In addition to Reuters, Facebook also collaborates with other news agencies such as the Associated Press, etc.
