Albanian exports in May increased by 43.8%, compared to April


The Albanian economy seems to be starting the recovery after the reopening.

The Institute of Statistics reported today that in May Albanian exports increased by 43.8%, compared to April.

According to the report on foreign trade published today by INSTAT, in May, exports of goods reached the value of ALL 21 billion, from ALL 15 billion recorded in April.

But compared to a year ago exports were 22.7% lower.
In the first 5 months of 2020, exports of goods reached the value of ALL 102 billion, decreasing by 19,4%, compared to a year ago.

The groups that have negatively impacted the annual decline in exports are "textiles and footwear" with 10.1% percentage points, "construction materials and metals" with 5.1%, and the group "minerals, fuels, electricity" with 3.4% .

The annual change of exports was positively influenced by the group "food, beverages, tobacco" with 0.4% and "machinery, equipment and spare parts" with 0.2%. / ATA
