The new coronavirus pandemic presents an opportunity for European countries to work more closely and be more cooperative with each other, German Defense Minister Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer said today.
"We saw that this pandemic took us to the limits of our national ability to act," Kramp-Karrenbauer said at a virtual seminar hosted by the Danish Institute for International Studies (DIIS).
"From my point of view, this is a crossroads. "COVID-19 gives us an opportunity to get closer to each other again," she added.
Kramp-Karrenbauer was invited by the Copenhagen-based institute two days after Germany took over the rotating presidency of the European Union.
