COVID-19 / Albanians increased coffee consumption, 231 tons more were imported


Although due to the COVID-19 infection the premises and restaurants were closed for more than two months, the Albanians did not reduce their coffee consumption, even the figures show that they drank more coffee, as the import of coffee for the 4-month period increased with 231 tons.

According to fiscal statistics published by the General Directorate of Customs, coffee imports during the first 4 months of this year increased significantly, compared to the same period a year ago.

During the first 4 months of 2020, 2,693 tons of coffee were imported.

Compared to the quarter of 2019, during the period January-April of this year 231 tons more coffee were imported.

In the quarter of 2020, 2,462 tons of coffee were imported.
