KOSOVO / COVID-19 / About 60% of patients admitted to the Infectious Diseases Clinic are treated with oxygen therapy


The Director of the Infectious Diseases Clinic, Lindita Ajazaj, announced that 96 patients are currently hospitalized in this clinic, of which 60% are in oxygen therapy and 5 are in intensive care in critical condition.

"From today's morning report we have 96 patients who have been lying down, 60% of them are with oxygen therapy, in intensive treatment 5 patients who are in critical condition. "It is very worrying the arrival of severe forms of the disease, so we must be constantly careful, to protect our health and that of our relatives," she said.

She said this at the joint conference with the Minister of Health, Armend Zemaj, who presented the group of 50 health professionals who will join the UCCK team in fighting the pandemic with COVID-19.

"Together with us today are 50 professionals, 8 laboratory technicians have started at the National Institute of Public Health, four microbiologists, 20 inspectors yesterday just started with monitoring and law enforcement teams and today during the day will be distributed another 50 doctors and 62 nurses according to demands and needs that are still growing. It does not mean that we will stop with this commitment, we will look at all the potentials and budgetary possibilities to engage additional staff to cover the needs of what is health in the Republic of Kosovo ", said Zemaj.

The General Director of SSKUK, Valbon Krasniqi announced that the hospital of Vushtrri will be turned into a COVID hospital.

"Vushtrri Hospital will be transformed into a COVID hospital, will accept patients from Mitrovica and surrounding countries, and citizens who need other services will be directed to Mitrovica Hospital," he said. / ATSH /
