COVID / 19 - Kosovo: 766 tested, 71 infected in total


The National Institute of Public Health of Kosovo has published a few hours ago the epidemiological situation with COVID / 19 in Kosovo for today.

According to this institute, 34 people were examined today, of which 8 were positive.

While the total number of infected to date in Kosovo has gone to 71.

Today, March 25, 2020, in the Laboratory of Molecular Microbiology at NIPHK with the RT-PCR method, thirty-four (34) samples of cases hospitalized in the Infectious Diseases Clinic and from the field were tested. Of these samples taken for testing on the SARS-CoV virus, eight (8) of them tested positive.

Confirmed positive cases are contact cases of which 4 cases are located in the village Domanek-Malisheva, 3 cases with residence in Pristina and 1 case with residence in the village Studime e Low-Vushtrri.

From 08.02.2020 to 25.03.2020, in the Laboratory of Molecular Microbiology in NIPHK with the method RT-PCR, were tested a total of 766 suspicious samples in the virus SARS-CoV-2 and of them, a total of seventy one (71) cases have tested positive, with one (1) case of death of an 82-year-old elderly person.

In NIPHK continuously throughout 24 hours are being contacted and supervised all case contacts, as well as contact contacts obliging them to self-isolation and seek medical help if they have symptoms.
