COVID-19 / BoA: EUR 217 million deferred loans, 85% belong to business, tourism sector leads


The Bank of Albania announces that, entrepreneurship and businesses are the segment that have benefited most from the moratorium on loan payments, which was established in mid-March and continues until the end of August, for all those who were in financial difficulties , under the conditions created by COVID-19.

According to the BoA, out of about two billion euros of deferred loan portfolio, 85% of this amount belongs to businesses.

The postponement of credit installments for businesses in the services and tourism sectors, which are also the sectors most affected by the pandemic situation, is leading.

The total value of deferred installments for businesses and individuals reached ALL 27 billion or about EUR 217 million, which represents the effect on bank liquidity, as a result of deferral of loans.
