Twenty-seven EU leaders plan to hold a face-to-face summit in mid-July in Brussels to negotiate a European recovery plan, European Council President Charles Michel said today.
This is the first face-to-face summit of EU leaders since the outbreak of the pandemic in Europe and the imposition of restrictive measures in mid-March.
"European Union member states must all agree on a common debt to partially fund the economic recovery plan in the face of the coronavirus pandemic," Angela Merkel said today.
