Brussels authorities decided today to speed up the application of the curfew in the country at 22:00, as well as ordered the closure of shops at 20:00 and the ban on cultural and sports activities, starting from Monday, announced today the head of the region, Rudi Vervoort .
"The situation is very serious," he explained during a press conference, after a meeting with the mayors of 19 municipalities in the capital.
"We will not be able to get out of this situation if what we decide today does not gain the support of the population," Vervoort insisted.
Working remotely and putting on a mask are mandatory.
The measures imposed today will also apply to the staff of international institutions.
According to authorities, the effects of the measures will be visible in 10-15 days.
